OUR PATRON SAINT 'S CELEBRATION IN TIGGIANO(Italy)

On 18th and 19th january in Tiggiano (our village),it's the day of our patron saint, his name is: "IPPAZIO".
On 18th there is a village festival that is called "sagra della pestanaca". Pestanaca is a special type of carrot, we only have it! It's very good, and you can do everything with it: cakes, salad, pasta...
There is also a "pestanaca competition", the best carrot wins. And at the fair you can find everything! This year, there was a pig, and if you guessed the weight of it, you could win the pig!
On 19th, I and my friends went to the church, then we went to the religious procession with the statue of the saint in the streets; and then we went out. There were the stalls and the funfair!! We had lots of fun there! In the evening there were fireworks. It was great!!!
You can see photos of the "pestanache" (carrots)
