The most important festivities

There are many parties in this area, but the most important ones are :
1) Christmas. In my town there are many activities at christmas.First on 25th of december in the morning two people read a funny proclamation. This marks the beginning of Chrismas and some people wear traditional clothes, and go to house of animals and these people drink "cuerva" ( the popular drink in my town ), sometimes in the evening, there are popular dancer and the people who wear traditional clotes dance with woman. Also, 31th of December it is New Year eve and this night we have dinner with the family and at twelve o´clock we eat twelve grapes to celebrate the new year, and 6th of January the "magic kings" bring us a lot of present.

2)San Anton. In this party some people join their friends and they take firewood and the day of San Anton people burn the firewood and they have dinner with their friends, family......

3)Carnivals.In the carnivals we disguise ourselves and we go to the disco and later there are competitions for the clotes more original, more funny, more work.....

LOS CHAVOS

Geographic: Los Chavos is situated in the east of Andalucia in the province of Granada. Los Chavos is one village is between 990 and 1012m altitude. Many years ago this area was covered by water.

Traditions and customs:
Our parties are in honor of San Antonio de Padua in the months in june. We always eat our rice in the party and make games for all.
We also celebrate the party in our river where you eat and drink all day for free.
In Los Chavos the most popular food is crumbs and rice, and to drink good wine.

Monuments:
We have a great monument (Church of San Antonio de Padua) and it's very nice for their sculptures.

History:
In reality the name of the village is Almontaras because this village is very near a small hill called Almonte.
Although all the people who live here we say Chavos because the first man who lived here was called "The Tio Chavo".
What do you know about the history of your place of birth? Can you tell us in a comment to this post?

COMPUTERS

Computers are machines that a lot of people use to look for information, keep things, write, etc. Computers are rectangular, some were thick or fine. The computer can be found in school, house, offices, hospitals and a lot of many more places. Computers can be of different models, laptop and it can have more or lees memory.A computer is conpuond by very necessary things like the disk drive, the monitor, the keyboard, the mouse and other not so necessary things, like the scanner, web cam, printer, speakers, etc...

We can use a computer to keep photos, music, videos, documents, and many other things. It can also be used to look for information in internet, play video games, and more...

Nowadays there are many gadgets that we use, and sometimes we abuse! Can you think of any other objects around us that make our life easier? Tell about it in a comment to this blog entry.

Cave Houses

My name is Carola, I'm seventeen years old and I'm from the Netherlands. I came to Spain four years ago and since then I live in a cave. The first time I came here, the cave that my dad had bought looked very old and unsafe. My dad stayed here to work on the cave and to make it like a normal house. Six months later me and my mon went back and we were really surprised about the work that my dad had done.
The part of the cave where I live now, the first time wasn't even there but the second time I went he had it already finished! But I still wasn't convinced to live in that place, not because it was a cave house, but because in that area live a lot of gipsy's and I wasn't used to that.
When I started going to school things went better because then I understood that the gyupsy's had always lived there and that they weren't that bad. After four years my dad is still working on the house but I'm happy with it. My schooll is fun and I've got some friends and even a boyfriend. At the beginning I didn't thought that I could become happy here but now I am. Although lots of my friends or family who haven't been here don't understand it. They think that living in a cave is from the prehistorie but it isn't.
I really like living in a cave house because in the summer when it gets up to 40 degrees outside, inside you're at 17 degrees and in the winter the same. It's also really quiet, you don't hear almost nothing from outside. The only bad thing is that there's only daylight at the front part of the cave. My partens have also got a Bed and Brakfast but many people can't sleep in a cave because they aren't used to it or they become scared because there aren't any windows. Another bad thing that I see of living in a cave house is that inside the cave your mobile phone hasn't got any signal so you've always have to go outside. I think that to understand how it is to live in a cave you just have to come around someday and try it!
And how about you? Where do you live? What is your home like? Do you share with many people? Is it fun living in your house?
