LOS CHAVOS

Geographic: Los Chavos is situated in the east of Andalucia in the province of Granada. Los Chavos is one village is between 990 and 1012m altitude. Many years ago this area was covered by water.

Traditions and customs:
Our parties are in honor of San Antonio de Padua in the months in june. We always eat our rice in the party and make games for all.
We also celebrate the party in our river where you eat and drink all day for free.
In Los Chavos the most popular food is crumbs and rice, and to drink good wine.

Monuments:
We have a great monument (Church of San Antonio de Padua) and it's very nice for their sculptures.

History:
In reality the name of the village is Almontaras because this village is very near a small hill called Almonte.
Although all the people who live here we say Chavos because the first man who lived here was called "The Tio Chavo".
What do you know about the history of your place of birth? Can you tell us in a comment to this post?
